RFI Global Services Ltd today announced a further extension of the security evaluation capabilities for payment products.
As part of RFI’s Smart Approvals portfolio expansion, RFI has been working with APCA (the Australian Payments Clearing Association) to obtain accreditation for the security evaluation of Pin Entry Devices (PEDs).
Accreditation has now been granted and RFI has become an approved SCD (Secure Cryptographic Devices) security evaluation facility within the CECS (the Consumer Electronic Clearing System).
This accreditation will be important to the industry, particularly in the present economic climate where companies are seeking to simplify their supply chain and reduce costs. Until now, manufacturers of payment terminals for deployment in have had to use different laboratories for the functional and security approval of their products; this has introduced additional costs and complexity to the approvals process.
RFI is delighted to be able to offer the full range of approvals needed for payments terminals in , reinforcing the value of our offer to vendors all over the world.
RFI aims to become a world leader in security evaluations, and the APCA CECS accreditation is a significant step along this road.
Jean-Luc Khaou , RFI’s Payments & Security Manager commented: “This accreditation by APCA CECS validates our strategy of continuing to invest in our security evaluation laboratory; and I am delighted that our expertise in the security evaluation of payment devices products is now recognised by APCA CECS.”
