We are pleased to announce that from 18th January 2010 you will be able to log in to RFI’s Made for iPhone website with the same Username and Password from your Apple Portal site. Apple and RFI believe that a Universal Sign-In will greatly simplify the process of accessing sites related to the Made for iPhone programme, because you now only have to manage one username and password.

Getting Made for iPhone approval

RFI have always maintained a reputation of excellence in testing and are approved by Apple Inc. to assist you with testing to the Apple Specification for Made for iPhone products.

In order to qualify a device under the Apple Made for iPhone (Mfi) programme, licensed developers must demonstrate compliance with the current version of the iPod & iPhone Accessory Interface Specification. Under this programme the developer is required to submit the device for third-party testing for RF Over-The-Air (OTA) performance and TDMA Noise. We can help you ensure your device passes the testing, and advise on any necessary adjustments needed to bring the device to market.

Mobile phone performance factors to consider

The performance of a mobile phone can be affected by a number of factors when operating in the real-life environment one of these factors is the RF performance. RF OTA testing has been developed to help determine the effectiveness of a product when both receiving a signal and transmitting a signal. It is important that when an accessory is connected to the iPhone, this does not adversely affect that performance.

TDMA Noise is a phenomenon of the GSM signal, which can create an audible noise, and it is important that an accessory designed to connect to the iPhone does not exacerbate this event.
