We have been offering Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing and consultancy services for over 20 years. Our depth of expertise and high reputation gives our customers the confidence to trust us and our ability to help take products to market in even the most difficult situation.

Our test facilities

As with all our services, our focus is on helping you to get your products to market in a timely and cost-effective manner. One of the ways we do this is by a continually investing in test facilities, so that we have both the technical capabilities that are required for today’s complex products and the capacity to handle peaks in demand.

Our EMC test facilities include:

• Fully automated 5m hybrid chamber for radiated emissions testing:
• 5m measurement distance with 8m height
• Fully NSA calibrated to FCC/ANSI and CISPR
• 3m, 2-tonne turntable calibrated for radiated immunity to EN 61000-4-3
• Large shielded control room
• Two 3m radiated immunity sites calibrated to EN 61000-4-3
• Five further screened rooms for R&D immunity and emission purposes
• Transient and surge immunity testing laboratory

These facilities allow us to perform tests to a wide range of EMC standards, including standards for Wireless products, Industrial, Automotive, Cellular, IT, Domestic, Medical, Smartcard and Security.

Our accreditations mean we can come to you

RFI is accredited by UKAS under ISO 17025, which means that you can have confidence in the quality of our work and the integrity of our staff. Our UKAS accreditation covers testing at our permanent laboratories and at locations remote from the laboratories. This means that we can bring our technology and expertise to you – whenever that is required.

Our customers are typically looking for product approvals in a range of countries. RFI provides services under a range of global approvals regimes, such as:

Need help with convergent products?

At RFI, our EMC testing can be provided as a stand-alone service or as part of a package of services (the “one stop shop”) for convergent products - i.e. products which incorporate a combination of cellular wireless and smart card technologies. We also offer consultancy and development services to help solve EMC-related problems.
